Residual Solvents <467>: “The Revolution”
Abstract:
Alyssa Ashley is a chemist in the Research and Development Laboratory (RDL) for the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). She works as a bench chemist in the general chapters group in RDL, which evaluates and develops analytical tests and methods of analysis in support of USP general chapters. She has worked with USP for three and half years and has been involved in many projects that range from dissolution testing to reference standard analysis to method development utilizing multiple instrumental techniques. She has worked on residual solvents research for the past year.
Prior to working at the USP, Alyssa worked as a quality control chemist for Tyco Healthcare Mallinckrodt in Hobart, New York. As a quality control chemist, she gained valuable experience in several analytical techniques, especially HPLC.
Alyssa earned her bachelors of science degree in biochemistry from Norwich University in Northfield, VT. And, she is currently pursing a master’s in analytical chemistry at American University.
